Baby Boomers

Baby boomers represent a generation of people who lived during a time of cheap housing, food, and education as well as excellent job prospects, whereas 'this' generation will not be able to afford owning property, are encumbered by crippling education fee debt, and otherwise unable to get jobs.
During this economically tight time, baby boomers are cutting services for a leaner government budget. However, pensions are not cut without a heck of a lot of kicking and screaming, while students and people living below the poverty line are the target of budget cuts.  Things like bus service and lower tuition are desperately needed if the next generation is going to be able to take care of both their aging parents and their future children. Movements to correct these issues (like the recent "Occupy" movement and the protests in Quebec) are treated with suspicion and anger by the baby boomer generation. The paycheques of wealthy CEOs increase (that is statistically true), but interns, custodians, contract labourers, and lower-level paper-pushers are laid off, have their wages frozen, or collectively take the wage cut to pay for the upper-management raise of someone who makes $300 000+ a year already.
If you are a baby boomer, (or just someone who watches a lot of toilet Fox News) consider that maybe these tens of thousands of people protesting the financial situation have a point.
To say that baby boomers are unaware of the policies they are enacting as owners, managers, politicians and voters is not an excuse for willful ignorance unfortunately...
